How to get a bike
How I did it: I'd been thinking about getting a bike for a while. 43T allowed me to focus on this by writing it down and putting it out there. Last Friday I had some stuff do - as I was walking back from Oxford st I decided to head str8 down Riley (which I don't usually do). I happened on a cute torti cat and gave it a little pat (it was very friendly). In the distance I could see a bike beside a tree and instantly thought - I wonder if it's been dumped there? Sure enuff it had a 'take me Im free' sign on it and it was a v pretty bike! bright red with the word PYRAMID on it (shimano frame) - unfortunately it was very rusted, the chain got stuck when u rode it and the bike was a bit too small and low. I thought I could repair it anyway and see what happens... took it home. When I was hanging with my sister yesterday and mentioned my find. Much to my surprise she tells me she's got an awesome bike at home that she can't ride and I was welcome to it... if I didn't mind PINK! hahah me? pink! NO PROBS ;) it's more a dark fuscia actually and it's a real beauty!!! Dad strapped it into the boot of the car and I sat on it all the way home on the train getting used to the feel of the seat. I test drove it this arvo around my local laneways and worked up a bittofa sweat. I'm totally in luv with it already and can't wait to take it for a ride to the next suburb and BEYOND!!!!!!! WOOOOO!!
Lessons & tips: Trust your instincts, put it out there, remain open, if it feels right and it happens then it was meant to happen.
Resources: Walking around the streets keeping my eyes peeled, knowing it was something I needed right now, talking to friends, sharing stories...
