How to sew something amazing- like a marie antoinette costume or a victorian ballgown or something.
How I did it: I spent a while looking at pictures of Victorian Gowns. Once I knew what I wanted, I sorted through Amazon Drygoods catalogues and Pattern Catalogues at Joann's to piece together the parts of the dress I wanted. When I knew which patterns I was using, I went to the Fabric District downtown and bought the fabric I wanted and began sewing. I also looked up some online tutorials on how to sew fabric roses, etc.
Lessons & tips: If you have a deadline, don't procrastinate. I'm really bad at this. The day OF the ball, I was running around in a corset and underwear trying to find my bias strips to sew more roses and sew them onto the dress.
