How to take one photograph each day as a way to document my life.
"Once you get a camera it's pretty easy."
How I did it: In the end I just went to a camera store and had the guy help me choose the right camera. Once I had it, it didn't take long before I had made a few dozen photographs.
Lessons & tips:
- Get a (compact) camera that you can take with you everywhere. The best camera is one that you have with you..
- Take photographs of everything :)
- Find an easy way to manage your photo's. On a Mac for example, you could use iPhoto. On Linux you can try out F-spot.
- If you like to share your photo's, find a good photo-sharing service online. I chose Flickr, but there are many others. Photobucket is one of them.
- Learn how your camera works and what features it has. This will enhance your experience and allow you to take better photo's quicker. You might even consider learning more about photography itself.
- Have fun!
Resources:
- Your local camera/photo store
- The internet, for learning about camera types and features before you go to the store to buy one.
- The camera manual :)
- Flickr
- If you have a Canon point-and-shoot camera, you could try out CHDK. It's a small piece of software you put on the memory card and it gives you a lot more options and settings.
