How to lose 10 lbs
How I did it: I used to always be weight-conscience because, as a child, I was always on the "more than average" side of the scale. Though I was never even close to obese, it was just enough to make my confidence that much less than desirable (especially in my delicate high school atmosphere where “how you look is everything”). My modeling and acting career never boosted any concrete self-assurance either. Before, at 125 pounds, I was much slimmer than in my childhood years, but still had a small "pooch" and my weight seemed forever constant no matter what diets or exercise programs I endured. In modeling and acting workshops, I felt out of place when standing next to the tall and [too] slim runway models. So I began to work even harder at my goal with the intent burned in my mind that it wasn't about gaining confidence through weight loss- it was about gaining confidence by proving I could do it. Now, at 115 pounds, I feel great in everything I wear and much more confident. And though I'm nowhere close to being Concentration Camp Skinny, I feel I possess more happiness and confidence than any size 00 runway model ever could.
Lessons & tips: You gain confidence through seeing and accepting you for you, not by visualizing and over-stressing how others may or may not see you.
Resources: Water, a gym, smaller food portions, healthier and more stable diet.
