How I did it: I went to Greece on a month long college course on Ancient Athenian Culture and Archaeology. We spent most of the time in Athens but also went to Olympia, Delphi and a day trip to Aegina. Greece is staggeringly beautiful (once you get outside of Athens!) and is such an interesting modern culture. I would highly recommend that people not take the tours or spend all of their time on the island but spend some time touring the mainland to get a real sense of Greek life outside of the tourist resorts. Athens is a big sprawling city with crowded apartments crammed next to ancient monuments. Definitely a site to see.

That’s great you got to go! I went to Greece a little over a year ago and Athens was quite the experience! I love Anthropology so I was very excited to see the ancient sites…traveling is wonderful!
