How to volunteer at least twice a month
"I became a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) in September, and took my first case in March. "
How I did it: I went to the National CASA site and found our local CASA organization, and signed up with them for training. They have their own training schedule, or you can do independent training (I opted for the in-house training). It took me so long to complete this goal because I had to wait until I was in a comfortable position to take a case, which didn't happen until several months after I was sworn in.
Lessons & tips: They will contact you after you fill out the request info form, and let you know what their training schedule is.
