"I was surprised since I have problems with overeating and food addiction that I was able to go a full 10 days without food."
How I did it: Day 1-5 I went on a temp fast, fasted from 6 am - 6pm and then ate after that, each day I ate later and later 6 am - 7 pm, then 8pm, then 9 and at the end of the week I felt no hunger so I basically weaned my self off of food.
day 6-15 (10 days without food)
I drank plenty of juice which sustained me I also drank chicken broth. I had body aches and my breath was HORRIBLE. Around day 13-14 I was freaking out cuz I hadn't eaten. I almost felt like I could go on forever without food. I ended up losing 20 lbs.
Lessons & tips: don't just eat regular food when you break the fast. Start with something not jarring to your system like soup or maybe milk. Don't be like me and eat fried chicken. It will sit in your stomach like a big greasy brick and feel like it is up in your throat. Your digestive system shuts down and when you eat like that it will sit for awhile before your stomach will start moving things through again, that took about 3 days or so for the digestive process show any action ie: bowel movements, stomach noises, etc.
Fasting gives your body a chance to heal itself. My complexion became clearer and when I started eating again, my senses are sharpened for spices and flavors. I used to like spicy foods but now it's TOO hot almost.
I definitely want to do it again. I only stopped because I freaked out, I told my family what I was doing and they got scared so I stopped it early. I was going to do a 21 day fast from food from March 15 - April 12 (Easter) but I stopped early just because it freaked me out. I was never hungry after the 3rd day which was very liberating!
