How to run a marathon
How I did it: I signed up for the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2008 with the repeated persuasion (or, coercion!) of my friend who volunteered to be my cheerleader and my companion for the run. I had already set my mind on running a marathon, which is deemed as a milestone in one's life and something that should be done when one has the athletic ability to do it. I huffed, and puffed, and finished the 42.195 km.
Lessons & tips: Train frequently, drink lots of water to hydrate the body, eat high energy yielding food the day before the actual marathon. Most importantly, get a cheerleader!
