How I did it: I left my country because I wanted to be on my own. To get a job in the UK, I had to attend a university, on my parents' money. It didn't feel very good, but it was for a greater purpose.
After graduating, I stayed at home for months going back and forth with interviews and so on. Given the economical situation, it was very hard to stay positive and thought I was going to stay on my parents' money at least one more year.
But, at last, I have my own job now and my parents can enjoy their money and freedom. They were great though, never made me feel awkward or anything.
Lessons & tips: Be patient, be determined and always do your best!

Congrats~ It’s so great to hear your story, a successful one. I came to a different country for a change in my life,too. Just like you, I have to go to uni first, and of course, with my parents’money. But luckily, I got a part-time job while I am studying, so I basically live on my own for the last whole year. I will graduate at the end of this year, hopefully I can get a full-time job here and become financially independent just like you!
