How to be more confident
How I did it: I was VERY insecure but with some motivation i can now say that im a confident woman.
So everyday we hear phrases and inspirational quotes and the funny things is that so many of them are KEY to being more confident. Really listening to advice that says "be yourself" or "think positive and it will help your appearance" or even "smile," make such a HUGE difference.
I must admit the first thing i did was seek help. I was insecure with my weight, my height, my skin and a million other things and so i would make fun of myself, think negative thoughts and just generally show a lack of respect for my body. So i bought a few books.
They taught me firstly the signs that insecure women have. They apologize for everything first of all, they dress in a way to overcompensate for what they belive they are lacking and they beg for companionship and approval. That was all me!
The funny thing about it is that it SHOWS very obviously to everyone else. I can spot a girl that is simply not confident a MILE away.
To get over it i did try to improve on my outer appearance, but i tried to love and accept the person within. If someone put me down I told then they could either accept my faults or get away from me.
I would smile all the time and think happy thoughts, I began to say to myself that whenever anyone was staring at me that they were thinking "Damn! that girl is beautiful!"
Funny enough, it was one day at school that i wasnt even concentrating on thinking positively that i had went up to a girl and asked her the time and she said the time and then said "you know? you're a very pretty girl," and walked off.
Now i honeslty get compliments all the time and people want to be apart of my life and its because im just confident in being me. I know this sounds like some weird, fake, turn around story but it is the truth.
Just act confident until you truly are.
Lessons & tips: I once learnt that people's reality is a reflection of themselves and i find this statement to be so true. I hated my nose and whenever i looked at a face i only looked a someone nose.
Taking that into consideration never let someone else's opinion of you bother you or bring you down... you could look amazing one day and someone will always have something negative to say because of their own problems.
Be confident with you... it takes time to accept your quirks and differences.
Lastly, when you realize that your happiness is dependent on you and YOU alone is the only point that you can be truly confident because your confidence cant sway on someone's opinion as previously said but only on what you think of yourself.
Im 19 by the way :)
