How I did it: After you start to see some success with losing weight, then you know you have a good system. If it's a fancy diet, and exercise program, whatever. Once you start seeing results, the important thing is commit to it even harder. I was happy to see that I was losing weight, and after you lose about 25, you will be tempted to loosen up and eat dangerously. Commit to your diet, stick with your plan.
I also set an outlandish goal of participating in a Half Marathon. I'm two weeks away, I don't feel ready, but I know the preparation I've put in has really helped me lose weight.
Lessons & tips: tell everyone. ask everyone to keep you accountable. After some success, coworkers will stop tempting you with food, friends will want to start exercising with you, and everyone asks "how much have you lost now?" You'll keep wanting to give them a lower number.
Resources: "The Beck Diet". changed the way I motivate myself.
