you should be happy
you should be proud, think of it this way you could have saved someone’s life. i would have probably faint too but you dont need to go again, its the fact that youve reached a goal and helped some1.
How I did it: I knew from the beginning this would be tough. I'm no hero when it comes to needles and hospital like areas. The first time I nearly fainted, so they had to stop the procedure. This time I brought a friend to distract me. For the first ten minutes this worked. He was telling me about his new kitchen. Of course I only heard half ot if, but I tried to stay focussed. For some reason my blood didn't run fast so I had to squeeze a red ball. This is basically when it went "wrong". I could really feel the needle and it didn't feel comfortable. I hung in there though. I wanted to donate blood at least once in my life. Having my friend with me really helped. He talked me through. When I was done I couldn't wait for them to take the needle out. My arm was aching. I didn't faint though. I am sad to say I won't be going again. I can't keep asking friends to come along and distract me. Without them I can't do it. I'm a fainter ;)
But it felt good donating. I'm really proud of myself for hanging in there.
Lessons & tips: drink lots of water.
If you're scared, bring a friend to distract you.
keep your arm as straight as you possibly can, that way you won't feel the needle so much.
Also make sure you eat properly before going.
