How I did it: I created a simple website and started selling little things online. I promoted my site through cheap little ads and kept on creating more and more affordable art. One day, someone bought one of my prized pieces for $500! It was the greatest feeling I have ever had! Still gives me chills : )

Lessons & tips: Just keep putting yourself out there and keep learning. It will happen! Just takes perseverance! Oh yea, and I once heard that if you step outside your comfort zone, the universe will bend over backwards for you. I quit my job and lived off the little savings I had so I could completely dedicate myself to doing something I loved. I now run a successful company helping other artists sell their work - Fey Handmade
If you can dream it, it can become a reality!

Resources: Other artists, talking with people (all kinds of people... they are technically your customers after all... you nevvvver know!), and advertising on the internet. You don't have to spend a ridiculous amount to get yourself out there. Don't be silly about it.
