How to speak confidently in public

How I did it: My job requires me to speak confidently to people I don't know, and often tell them things they do not want to hear. It's easy to do once you realize that most people want the same outcome as you, and that they don't want to see you fail. Speaking about the things you know about is critical, as people can definitely hear when you are improvising and have nothing to say.
