How to live in Rio de Janeiro for a few months

How I did it: Im a programmer and it was actually my boss that suggested I worked on distance from Brazil (my land of dreams) for a somewhat reduced salary plus no "office cost" for him.
Lessons & tips: Learn portuguese and try to find an apartment for a longer period of time since it's much cheaper. Also know that the price they give you is well above what the local people pay so there is room to haggle. Plus I've heard that even all brazilians do it but I didnt try it myself.
Resources: Google for "temporada rio de janeiro".. or your favourite neighbourhood.. mine is Leme and/or Catete.. maybe Leblon if you can afford.. Ipanema is the worst because it doesnt have subway (yet)
