How to spread the Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster
How I did it: I think a person's understanding of the universe is personal, no matter what that understanding is. It bothers me that some push their beliefs, and condemn those with different ones. I learned about FSM, a satirical "religion" invented as a response to the kansas school board considering teaching creationism. Since learning about the spaghetti monster, i have been increasingly more amused with the thought, and now it plays a role in how i approach people who try to condemn me. Don't get me wrong, if you believe in god, good for you. Just don't think your believe applies to anyone but you.
Lessons & tips: If someone claims to have a literal interpretation of the bible, ask them how much a child is worth (bible supports selling children into slavery)
Resources: read the bible. There are good stories. Knowing the history as understood by anthropologists is important. People who take it (or anything really) too seriously are a problem i.e extremists killing etc... Don't insult people when you are challenging their beliefs, be courteous, as they are so often not.
