Six Years??
Oh my gosh, I just don’t think I have the will-power! I need to try though…
Way to go, I’m so happy for you!
How I did it: I set it as the main goal. Even if I didn't feel like doing something, I pushed myself to do it until it became habit. I taught myself to go headfirst into whatever comes at me, regardless of what it may be.
Lessons & tips: Just push yourself to do what needs to be done. That is exactly what I did and look where it got me!
Resources: Willpower.

6 yrs to stop procrasting? This is a joke right? Isn’t that a contradiction in terms? It is like how I have decided to start being more decisive but then I can’t decide how to become more decisive….........
MavBav Some pursue happiness, others create it.
I agree! lol.. its kind of ironic – 6 years lol… how come it takes 6 years? shouldnt it take moments? I mean okay maybe moments is cold turkey. At most a few weeks! it should take 21 days to break an old -bad habit. hmmmm i hope i stop procrastinating earlier, 6 years is too long!!!
Berobi contemplating on what to do next..
What is so supprising about years; how long does it take a smoker to stop smoking, or a gambler to stop gambling, an acoholic to stop drinking, or the question I should be asking is how long do you have to be off the “habit” to say you finally quit, things take time and people (speaking for myself now) tend to fall back into the old bucket, the point is that we keep going with out giving up, it takes days for some; years for others, so don’t be so critical, the goal was achieved which is all that matters.
Any bad habit requires patience to get rid of. It also depends on the person’s abilities and resources. The bottomline is, this person even it took him 6 yrs, can proudly say today that he has gotten rid of this habit!..

i guess it takes time. i still have a long way to go! Somethimes I fall back into bad old habits. somehow need to break that!
Here is a great in-depth article about overcoming procrastination. There is also an accompanying Mind Map that puts all the pieces together – http://blog.iqmatrix.com/mind-map/procrastination-to-motivation-mind-map
