How to learn a martial art

How I did it: Trained. A lot. Three times a week if not more. I researched different kinds of MA and found ones that interested/challenged me.
Lessons & tips: Figure out your pain-threshold. Some disciplines are tougher on the body than others. Some are more spiritually-focused and balanced than others. Do you want to learn weapons? Grappling? If you're a woman, know you may be a bit outnumbered :)
