How to teach film making to young people
How I did it: I found this wonderful organization that has after-school arts classes for school-kids. It's called Venice Arts In Neighborhoods. I'd volunteered for them in the past. I found them on the Internet.
Lessons & tips: Look around for any organizations or church groups that are involved with kids. Chances are they'll have after-school activities. These kind of organizations are always looking for volunteers. It can be hard and frustrating to work with high-energy kids, but as time goes on you form relationships with them and then it's easier to help them focus on creating something. They sometimes whine about the amount of work but at the end, when they see the finished product, they'll have a lot of pride and fun showing it off to their family and friends.
