How to get an industrial
How I did it: I was in Amsterdam with my father. Jokingly whilst walking through the Red Light District, and looking at all the body jewelry in the stores, I told him I wanted to pierce something. He laughed, as he is quite familiar with my fear of needles (I chickened out of getting my lobes pierced 3 time...I'm talking sitting in the chair with my ears marked and they're lining up to pierce when I changed my mind). He asked what I wanted done, so I told him that I wanted a facial piercing. He said that my mother would kill him if he allowed me to pierce anything on my face. He suggested I opt for something a little less radical. I decided spur of the moment on the industrial. He agreed - I figured he was joking. We found a piercing studio, and he told me that if I sign the papers, I can't chicken out. The studio and the piercer were amazing. There were wall to wall mirrors in the piercing room though, which made me nervous. The needle was huge, and I was terrified, but I wanted to tough it out for my dad. Honestly, it hurt a LOT. I have a low pain tolerance. I hadn't eaten breakfast and almost passed out. It was sore for quite awhile too, but so worth it.
Lessons & tips: Find a clean studio. The one I went to smelled like disinfectant. I would have eaten off those floors...it was sparkling clean.
