How to see the northern lights
"This experience can't be summed up in one sentence. "
How I did it: I lived in Alaska, but worked the morning shift at a local radio station. The aurora like to come out around 3 AM or so, at my prime sleeping time, so I missed them for a very long time. Eventually, I put all of my friends on Aurora watch and gave them instructions to call me any night that they were in full effect. Eventually, I got to see them on one extremely brisk March morning: drove out of town, four miles away from electricity, and BLA-DOW. There they were.
