How to run in a 5k
"Using the Couch to 5k running program, I was able to run all 5k of the Run for the Hungry in November."
How I did it: I ran three times a week, following the Couch to 5k program. My roommate also trained with me, but due to time restrictions, couldn't run the final 5k with me. The 5k was sooner (about four weeks!) than I should have been able to run the 5k, but adrenaline kept me going that day and I ran the whole thing!
Lessons & tips: A training program really helped. I don't think I could have done it otherwise.
