How to get a raise
How I did it: I asked my boss in January if I could work full time and take on more responsibility, and he took that to mean I wanted more money, which was correct. He said we'd see how I do with my new tasks and then talk money in two months. In March I reminded him about the review repeatedly, until we had one in April. I was getting very aggravated with how many times he put it off, but eventually we had the review, he asked me how much I wanted, I aimed slightly high, and he gave me slightly less than I wanted.
Lessons & tips: Be patient but assertive and persistent. Know how good you are and have a number in mind. Work hard and be prepared to tell your boss what a good job you're doing and why you're valuable.
