How to break a brick
"I broke a perfectly good concrete patio block with my bare hand using a downward palm strike."
How I did it: First I watched everyone else who wanted to try and tried to learn from their mistakes. The brick was supported on each end by a concrete block, so I just did a downward palm strike through the middle.
Lessons & tips: Do not try this for the first time without a knowledgeable instructor to help you! If your technique is flawed it won't work. Make sure you are close enough to the brick that your palm goes straight down--any angle will take power out of your strike. Aim through it and don't hesitate. A split second of doubt will hurt your technique and may be the difference between a broken brick and a whole one.
