How to move out on my own
How I did it: It was impossible for me to find a nice apartment in the city. I tried and tried and tried. I don't know how people move into Manhattan. It's impossible. Who can pay $1,800 rent and still hope to put some money away?
In the end, now I am renting an apartment in my grandparents building. Not a perfect solution, but now I have my own space.
Lessons & tips: I think it's a shame sometimes that life doesn't work out the way we
expect it. For better or worse I suppose. Most of my expectations on
what I 'should' be doing, or my 'dream' living situations came from
other people. Family, Co-Workers, Friends. All either having something
that I wanted, or telling me that my life could be sooo much better:)
I think that my patiance will win out. Last time my contract was up,
I'd saved enough to take 6 months off. And this time, I'll be going on
a 3 month motorcycle trip across the USA. I guess it's all what you
want out of life, and what you are willing to sacrifice to get it.
Resources: Time and space.
