How to read more
"I feel like my brain works better."
How I did it: Reading more is simple. Just do these two simple things:
- Step 1 may seem difficult and painful, but I assure you, it's not. First, unplug that big thick coax cable from the back of your television. Then call the cable company and say "I'd like to cancel my service". You don't really want to spend all that time sitting on the sofa, so why are you paying Comcast $60 a month for the privilege. You still have your DVD collection and you can watch Lost and Grey's Anatomy online. Get rid of the cable.
- Step 2 is the easy and fun step. Go to the library. Bring a photo ID and that final cable bill with you, so you have proof of residence. Go up to the front desk and say "I'd like a library card". Then fill out a form. Now look around. There is so much good stuff here to read, and it's all free. Take home 5 books. Not just Twilight or Harry Potter either. Get 5 books by 5 different authors in 5 different genres. You'll only read 2 of them, but that's okay. They're free. Bring them back next week and pick 5 more. Make a trip to the library part of your weekly routine. I go every Tuesday after work. Maybe I'll see you there.

Yeah, I’ve been thinking about going to the library more often and saying to myself that when the spring semester finishes and summer break begins, I’ll just live at the library! (when it’s open, of course.) I love information, but I just get distracted SOOOOOO easily and so I feel that a library, which is quite and relaxed and lacks distractions, would help me to concentrate on reading. There’s so many books and different subjects I wanna read about!! xD You’ve inspired me to go out tomorrow and borrow some bookies!!!!
