How to read 100 classic novels
How I did it: My first collections were Charles Dickens and Rudyard Kipling. As I became a teen I also began to appreciate Shakespeare and Homer (but I'm a geek). As an adult I have made it a goal that for every two modern novels or biographies I read, I must read one piece of classic literature. I have long since surpassed the 100 book mark, but intend to continue reading until I die.
Lessons & tips: If a story interests you or you enjoyed the movie version, but the book seems daunting or hard to follow, buy the Cliff's notes! Then read the book, now with a greater understanding of the plot, characters and moral. It's really worth it, just don't put down a book because you didn't get it immediately..
