How to touch a giraffe
How I did it: okay. so. my brother mentioned this place "Out of Africa" that's semi-close to where my husband and i live. we decided yesterday to take the day up there. on the website, you take a Serengeti safari around some giraffes and zebras... general safari animals, then the place is like a big ole' safari animal zoo.
it was wonderful!
i was filled with butterflies the entire way there, because really... what if the giraffe doesn't come over? we got there and on the bus and all that, drove by some zebras, and wha-bam! not even five minutes into it, my giraffe was right there!they gave each of us a cookie to give to the giraffe... so when he was done with the car ahead of us, he came over towards us.
and there, people... there was his 10 inch long tongue picking up the cookies from our hands. I HAD GIRAFFE SALIVA COVERING MY HAND! i got to touch his face. the pictures were hard to get since i was on the other side of the bus... but we at least got one of my hand... feeding the giraffe!
i was so giddy. i started jumping up and down giggling for pretty much the rest of the ride.
this is something i never thought i'd get to do in my lifetime. and there it was. my favorite animal. my hand slobbered on.
it was WONDERFUL!!
