How to learn how to drive stick-shift

How I did it: My good friend jumped into the car with me and showed me the motions before the car was turned on--best move to actually learn and not be scared! She drove around the block a couple times so that I could see how it was done, and then when I got into the front seat she walked me through each step. She told me to shift when I needed to shift and really explained to me why I needed to shift and to listen to the car.
Lessons & tips: Deep Breaths! And be confident, that's number one.
