How to be able to truly relax again.
How I did it:
- Simplifying my life helped.
- Also finding meaningful activities.
- Having a mindset that this goal will eventually happen no matter what.
- Taking breaks from life.
Lessons & tips: As far as simplifying my life, I determined what was most important and only kept those goals open and tweaked the list to reflect my true priorities in life. Not taking on too much responsibility is something that was very vital, too. A person can only do so much, and if you're trying to do it all, you'll never accomplish this goal. (Sorry, some things in life involve choices for one thing or the other...it's a situation that you can't have your cake and eat it too.)
Hobbies that I've developed were going to the gym, artistic pursuits, reading, et. al. Doing stuff I really enjoyed helped.
I am a very stubborn person (Todd can attest to this, but I hope that he'll be kind and not comment on this statement), so I worked very hard to channel that energy to deal with this goal.
As far as breaks from life...I've really tried to get proper rest daily (doesn't always happen, but it is something that is important). I have also taken some time off periodically as my vacation time will allow.
