How I did it: My lease was up about 2 weeks after I graduated from college; I had been living with 2 roommates who were moving in with others or out of the area. I convinced my dad to pay my security deposit and help me with rent on a 1 bedroom until I got a job.

Luckily, I got a job a month out of college that allowed me to afford said rent on my own! I love living alone. I do whatever I want whenever I want and have no one to answer to. And it's so beautifully quiet and serene all the time.
