How I did it: After receiving a starter brew kit for my birthday - I set out with a mission to make a simple porter. The wonderful people at my local brew shop walked me thru the process, filled my cart with ingredients and set me on my way. I ran into some trouble near the beginning, but with there help and the help of a fellow brewer it turned out great. It won't win any awards, but it tastes like beer and thats a success in my book.

Lessons & tips: I was lucky enough to find a local brewery shop run by two ladies who love what they do and were willing to take time to help a newbie like me.
