How to decorate and beautify our apartment

How I did it: Because we moved into an abandoned apartment that hadn't been even swept in 6 months. If I am going to live here for a year or more, I'd like it to be something I am proud of, some place that I can come to and relax. I was sick of feeling like I was living in a slum!!
Lessons & tips: Get your roommates to pitch in on furniture and decorations. Also, get them involved in picking everything out! Throw cleaning parties.
