How to go to europe
How I did it: I went with a group, which means this was set up nearly a year in advance, with rules and chaperones.my advice is to not go with a group. Some of the absolute best times of the trip were when i wandered off by myself, no one to decide what to do next, or decide that is was "un-safe" to do something.
Lessons & tips: Go by yourself. Your more willing to talk with the locals if your not busy talking to the friend at your side. I met the most amazing people! A man who spoke nine languages, Some very friendly Romanians, some flirty jamaicans, even a creepy old sea captain! None of whom i would have met with a less-adventurous friend glued to my side! i'd go back and do it all again, but maybe with just one or two friends. This also let me test my limits..deciding what i had the guts to do, and what was too much. I decided that taking the subway by myself is hardly dangerous, and an interesting way to meet locals! But that sneaking out late at night could have bigger consequences.
Resources: Take language classes, or bring someone with more language skills in the area than you. People are your best advantage.
