How I did it: I took Russian 101 and 102 and can carry a decent conversation about several things. I'm enrolled in 201 for next year, too. I really enjoy this language and I can't wait to go to Russia and use it for real!
Resources: Golosa (Голоса), "Voices", is a really good textbook.
