How to expand my vocabulary

How I did it: i read a lot. and sometimes, i check out wikipedia/wiktionary for the word for the day, i try to retain it in my brain, though not all the words stay, some of it does. sometimes when i'm reading and i see a word that i can't recognize, i check the meaning in the dictionary. and that's basically how i expand my vocabulary. :)
