How to win an award for my writing
It made me
feel satisfied. 
"It has been recorded as something barely resembling a memory, as it was so dark, so shinny, so frightening, so elating."
How I did it:
I wrote.
While at work.
Apparently I did it reasonably well.
It was a Christmas present for a friend, and as much as I liked it, I didn't think it would be worth much of anything to anyone but me... and perhaps the giftee.
The WFNS certainly proved me wrong.
Lessons & tips: Pick up a pen, take what you see, turn it upside down.
