How I did it: I actually signed up for a workshop (2 actually).  One ended up to be a warm-up as the right vive was not there.  The 2nd one gave me plenty of time to prepare and also to gather some things I wanted to put in it.  I also bought a book on how to make them.  Read a couple of chapter (did not get through the whole thing)...but it gave me the idea. Once I went to the workshop the board sort of made it itself - if you know what I mean. Now I keep it hanging on the wall.  I will be hanging additional things on it as things start to come up.  I will leave the original as a "base" and hang additional pieces on top of it or on the side. I made it with a very thick base, so it can take additional pieces or things hanging on it.

Lessons & tips: Just do it! Search to find out if there is a group actually doing one and try it out...I ended up going to two, one did not work out.  But if a group is not available just devote a day to work on it..and if you do not finish it, devote another day and just work on it. 

Resources: Getting a book was helpful.  It basically showed me examples of other people's vision boards and how simple they could be. Once I had some guidelines and examples it made it easier for me to think about what I wanted in mine....but then again, once I went to the workshop, the board kind of made itself.  I ended not using a lot of the stuff I thought I was going to use in it.
