How to lose 15 pounds
How I did it: Ah, the proverbial "freshman 15." I wanted to lose it, plus some, since I'd been gaining weight gradually for the last 6 years since from when I started college.
The main thing that I did was controlling the amount of food I ate, portion size. For example, if I went out to a restaurant and a bunch of food came with my order, I would eat until I was full. Usually there would be a lot of food left over. I didn't force myself to eat it all, and just took it home.
I made healthier choices about what I ate. Nothing drastic. I don't like junk food and with my braces, I can't eat a lot of candy and chips anyway, so that part was easy. I would get soups from Panera. Those are really good. I will say that I probably should have exercised more, but I have a high metabolism, so once I wasn't eating as much, the weight fell off. I tried to drink more water, too, but I didn't do it as much as I should have.
The main thing was just being more conscious of what I was eating. I wasn't trying to loose a certain amount of weight. It started as seeing how much weight I could lose by making small adjustments to my diet. I've been at my current weight (sans 25 lbs) for about 3 or four months now, so I can say with confidence that I'm doing a good job keeping the weight off, and with out much effort. :)
