How to get a role in the Spring opera
It made me
Ecstatic. 
"There is no spring opera! I got a role in the fall opera instead - Miss Pinkerton in Menotti's "The Old Maid and the Thief"!"
How I did it: No orchestra, Daniel Recital Hall, Furman University, November 6 and 8, 2008. Also performed as the backstage chorus in Holst's "Savitri". Very much enjoyed being in the opera - fun character to begin acting with - but the experience made me unsure as to whether or not opera's the field of work for me. Auditioned on "Porgi, amor" from "Le Nozze di Figaro" by W.A. Mozart (later got told by Dr. Schoonmaker that this is not a good audition piece unless I am the world's authority on this aria - womp womp).
