How I did it: With all my friends knowing how to play poker and having poker nights on a regular basis, I felt left out not knowing how to play.

When a friend offered to teach me, I was a little hesitant. I wasn't entirely convinced I would even like the game. But I went along and I'm glad that I did. I'm still practicing, still have a piece of paper at hand that lists all the card combinations. But at least I now know the basics and already won a few games.
