How I did it: I bought the season "subscription" for two seats in the Grand Tier (not quite nosebleed, but nearly!) section.  That meant I got to go to each performance, but at a fairly reasonable price.  I loved the music; the spectacle; the variety and the overall experience of dressing up to attend.

Lessons & tips: Bring binoculars if you sit way up high, so you can see the little details of the set designs if you'd like.  Bring Halls or a similar throat lozenge; it's amazing how loud a tiny throat clearing sounds.
