How to meditate daily
"Meditation has vastly improved my life and I recommend it to anyone who is at that point in their lives where they're ready to face it all head on."
How I did it: Made the decision. Chose the time. Got a meditation bench to help posture. Figured out the cushion thing. Went from half hour to full hour sittings.
Lessons & tips:
- Don't read too much. Get a basic understanding, then just sit. After you sit for a little while, then you can go back to reading and it'll make a little more sense.
- Actually study Buddhist philosophy along the way. This will give you a better understanding why meditation itself is so important to not just you, but everyone.
- Don't be too hard on yourself expecting your mind to become all of a sudden calm... it takes a little time.
- I recommend reading the works of Thich Nhat Hanh.
