How I did it: I bought a flight way in advance so that I had no excuses. This is one of those things that you can either talk about doing or do, right? Book travel and accomodation and don't let anyone talk you out of it. If you love beer, this is a must-do. I usually like to travel alone, but this is one event that is a lot better with a group for a host of reasons.
Lessons & tips: Get reservations at the beers tents (and this most be done well in advance), huge pain without them.

What an absolute great time. I was there for the tapping of the kegs… Got to drink in the Hofbräuhaus tent… It really couldn’t of gone any better in Munich. I recommend this to anyone with a sense of adventure and a thirst for great beer.
