How to complete my senior thesis
"I am so proud to have actually done it and also very thankful to be done! :) "
How I did it:
- Decide on a topic
- Find adviser and second reader
- Turn in necessary paperwork, register for the thesis course
- Check out half of the library and do research
- Write outline
- Write rough draft
- Present research at symposium
- Get lots of edits
- Revise, revise, and revise some more
- Get adviser to sign off on final copy
- Send final draft to copy shop to be bound
- Walk to my major's office and TURN THIS SUCKER IN.
I picked it up today and walked it to the office after my last class. SUCCESS!
Graduation here I come!
Resources:
- When you check out your library books, you might actually want to read them.
- Don't wait until the last semester to do it all.
- Be sure you really want to write about your topic before you start writing.
- Look for an adviser who cares about his students and who has experience advising projects like yours. The more they know about it, the more they can help you!
- Try not to stress yourself out too much. Think positive, break it into small pieces, and even if you start slacking, don't beat yourself up over it! Just keep trying :)
