Grow Grow Grow !
Always fun to grow something each spring and summer.
How I did it: I picked several packets of seeds that I wanted to plant. I looked to see what kind of light they all needed. Most of them were partial shade, with a few full sun. So I found a spot in our yard that gets sun about 75% of the day. I raked the leaves away, pulled out all the weeds and transplanted any other plants that I want to keep. I loosened the soil a bit, and left it for a while.
I started most of my plants in pots so I could tell what the seedlings were. Once they were sprouted, I planted them in the area I cleared out. I watered them whenever the soil looked dry, or two times a week. They sprouted! :D
After a lot of things started growing, I decorated my garden a bit. I put a pathway from my house to my garden with colored square bricks. I put a small bench nearby, and put out a bird feeder.
I have learned a bit of patience through this. I got frustrated a few times because it was taking a couple weeks for the plants to sprout up. Also when some of them die seemingly without reason.
All the work, effort, backaches, and frustration is worth it in the end because you can see the fruitage of your efforts with your eyes. Just keep at it!
Lessons & tips: If you are worried about rabbits getting at your veggies, use pepper. Plant peppers around your garden, or use ground pepper.
Also, don't go crazy with the water. In the past I have killed a lot of plants because I watered them every day. Now I water them only a few times a week.
Sitting and watching your plants grow won't make them grow any faster.
