joing the circus
hey how did u join the circus did u just go down to where the circus was and ask sum1 there or is there anothr way?
How I did it: I was hanging with some friends in Providence, RI and i was told the circus was in town so i check it out! We later hung with a few guys that set up the stages and they told me they were hiring! That was it i went to the next town in worcestor and applied. I was hired on the spot for Ring curb! Now ring curb isnt the best job in the world, but its amazing. I instantly became friends with all the major performers and i was being taught about there acts as well as trained with them!
Lessons & tips: You need to just go for it! With ringling brothers you live on a train the money isnt the best maybe 250 to 300 a week But its amazing!!!! If you stay and want to learn anything there are many people to teach you FOR FREE!!!!! Parties are amazing especially if you link to drink with russians :) I was tought how to blow fire the first night i was there :)
Resources: Well i am looking back into it after being out for 7 years, i still have many contacts if you need any info contact me :)

i want to hear and learn more about your experience with the circus.
I posted this last summer and in august i went to www.feltdentertainment.com and i applied for a transportation job and i was hired i drove to new jersey to meet up with them and get trained the pay was total crap 280 a week before taxes i was lucky to get 220 a week after. the people were alot of fun tho and the parties were the best. performers on the red unit dont associate much with just regular floor and crew members, but if you want to give it a go you can email me at caseyobrien1982@gmail.com and i can give you more insight i was with them for 2 months and i left bc i couldnt afford to stay financially. You sleep in a very small room but i had a cool job i was the guy who towed the tigers into the arena and back out after there show then i worked portal which is the entrance to the arena for performers and carrying in and out HUGE props from the show. also you live on a train and you travel while the train moves to city by city!!! its an amazing experience to be sitting on the vestibule watching the scenary… its not an easy job tho its alot of work!!!!
