How to clean up my computer's desktop

How I did it: I bought an external hard drive. I saved all the important stuff to the hard drive. Things that were outdated or not useful anymore or dead I just deleted.
Lessons & tips: Rename any files or folders with ambiguous names so you know what's in them. It saves you time later if you have to clean or recategorize items.
