How to stop drinking coffee
How I did it: I had been meaning to break my coffee addiction for a while, but it took choosing caffeine as a subject for a paper I was writing to actually do it. I chronicled my caffeine withdrawal so I would have some reference as to how bad it actually was. BTW I cheated and drank green tea my first few days. Today I had my first cup of coffee and two weeks and I really didn't like it--I think the habit is broken!
Lessons & tips: 1. Choose a slow week for your first few days of withdrawal. I needed to do a lot of sleeping!
2. Stay hydrated with water and brush your teeth a lot to relish how much healthier you are and how much fresher your breath is.
3. Stay away from your local coffee place. It's hard to go in and resist the smell, even though you might say "I'm just going to get some tea!"
