How to find my half brother

"Google helped me find my brother."
How I did it: I knew his mother's name so I searched it. On one site, it had her approximate location and age, which helped me confirm it was her. I found him listed as her son. Then, I searched his name. Eventually, it occurred to me to search him on social networking sites. I found him on one of these sites and, after much contemplation and a long time, emailed him. After awhile, we traded phone numbers and talk occasionally. I would love to meet him some day, but living across the country prevents this.
Lessons & tips: Search everything, everywhere! Don't give up. Small tidbits of information can lead to bigger ones.
